Day 45 of 365

We traveled to Bear Lake today.  We were taking Mema down to stay with Grandma Bell at her timeshare, while we enjoyed a couple of days away.  This is a tradition dating back over 30 years.  I asked Grandma how long they have been going to Bear Lake and she couldn’t remember.  Bear Lake always reminds me of my Grandpa DaBell.  We had fun as children going and visiting them at the condo.  Now it is fun for me to take my kids.  This was Morgan’s first time and Carson has only been there one other time – right after she was born.  They loved it!  They had so much fun.

My aunt Jackie and her two kids – McKenzie and Cole were there for part of the time.  Cole is a sweet heart.  He is 9, almost ten years old and he had so much fun playing with the kids.  McKenzie just completed her first year of school at BYU-Idaho.  She was fun to hang out with as well and she “put” up with us boring older folks and little kids!  We had an extra with us for the trip – we invited Sammy to come with us.  He was happy to oblige.

We arrived in the late afternoon.  The kids wasted no time in getting their suits on and we headed to the beach.  They played for two hours and had a fantastic time!  Bear Lake is so beautiful this year – it has been a wet year and the lake is extremely high.  There wasn’t a lot of room for the beach; however it was beautiful and I haven’t seen it like this in a long time.
