Day 17 of 365

I have three cameras...  One is a really nice Nikon SLR N65 that I bought about 8 years ago.  The other two are digital - one is a Nikon Coolpix S550 and the other is a Kodak Easyshare C183 that I bought on clearance at Wally World for $50.  It was the right price at the time because I lost my Nikon Coolpix for about 6 weeks and decided that I better get another camera so I didn't lose opportunities to take pictures of my kids.  I actually use my Kodak camera alot!  It does alright and is faster than my Coolpix.  My Coolpix is about three and a half years old.

Since starting my 365 project, I have decided to give my Nikon SLR another chance and try taking some pictures.  I can't find the manual and I have no idea what I am doing.  I took three rolls of film and sent them to snapfish to develop.  I was so disappointed in my pictures.  I need help!  I have no idea what I am doing.  If I could only find the manual.  Out of 48 pics, I think there are only a couple of good ones.  Here are a few....

Grandma DaBell on the 4th of July

Sam and Cloe on the 4th...  There is something
wierd going on at the top of the photo.
So I definitely need help....  First I've got to find where I can purchase another manual.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I also have decided that I just need to get a nicer camera.  I am looking at purchasing the Nikon D3100 so that when I purchase more lenses and flashes they will work on both of my cameras.  We'll see.  My new quest to be able to take better pictures continues...

Now, on to our day.  When you are a working mom and a single mom, dinner time is just not the same as it used to be.  I remember cooking lots of meals during my marriage - I had three step-kids plus a husband to feed.  I have to say I got pretty good at it.  Fast forward through the past year and a half.  I think I have forgotten how to cook.  One of my favorite sayings for dinner is, "If I can cook it in the microwave, you can have it!"  My kids are pretty good.  They love easy things like scrambled eggs and cooked oatmeal; spagettios and chicken nuggets; pancakes and sandwiches.  Especially Carson -she is so easy.  Tonights dinner is sponsored by Schwans and Spagettios.  Thank goodness for both of them.  With less prep time, we have more time to spend together and talk.

Thanks to the Schwan's man for making
this meal possible - baked ziti - yummy.

This little spud loves him some spagettios...

Another big bite!
 Have a great night!

well, if it makes you feel better....I hate cooking! I am just not good at it! ;) And as far as a camera goes....you would be better off going digital SLR in the end, because you won't have to pay for processing film anymore...but there is something timeless and wonderful about film, but I never use my old SLR anymore. The D3100 is a good choice. It's on the lower end of the scale of DSLR's but it will take great pics and you will LOVE IT! You won't be able to go back to your point and shoots anymore, I promise! I have a coolpix 8000 and I hardly EVER use it because it just can't produce what my DSLR can! And interchangable lenses is a good thing! :) Go with the DSLR...you won't regret it!!!! Good luck!
